To the surprise of many, bringing the right person in for a job is a daunting challenge. Not only do you have to consider the responsibilities of the role itself, but you also need to consider what the right candidate might look like in nearly every capacity. Not to mention doing it for dozens of open roles. Thankfully, there is a brand that has its finger on the pulse.

BNO has a long, remarkable history in the creative space. Over the years, the agency has solidified itself in the employer brand marketing space, built relationships with high-profile clients (like Verizon, Nike, and Johnson & Johnson), and grown its operation across the east coast. As the agency has grown, they have also spent time crafting its voice and personality on its social media platforms. At the beginning of 2021, BNO started looking to revamp its social presence to aline with its culture.
While working with BNO as a Freelance Graphic Designer, I collaborated with the Senior Art Director and Creative Director to reimagine the agency’s visual presence across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The result was a burst of vibrance, charm, and dynamism.
One of the most important steps was determining the type of value BNO could bring to the social space. BNO, which specializes in employer brand marketing and customer service in the health and fintech space, has a ton of wisdom backed by years of experience in its niche. Paired with the quirkiness of the team, the agency has some room to share its opinions about the industry while giving its fun side time to shine.

The next major challenge was creating a new visual landscape where these two different types of content could cohabitate. Based on the positive trends in the social media strategy, prioritizing people was the agency’s bread & butter. And after some trial and error, we determined that finding a way to blend the professional and the personable would complement those trends.

In just a few months, we completely transformed BNO’s social presence. By utilizing blends of color, textures, and motion design to balance against the coveted green offset on iconography, we created a visual landscape that made room for the brand to deliver new content, including Marketing Trends, Awards/New Hires highlights, and glimpses into the company culture.

The social media revamp resulted in a trend of increased engagement on Instagram and LinkedIn, two of the agency’s most important platforms.
