Our task was to design an identity for Pandora’s Month-long Black History Month campaign. The goal was to celebrate the legacy of Black culture that continues to innovate to this very day. The result was a visual landscape that felt just as expressive as it did storied. And the best part, it came back around 4 months later for Black Music Month.
The design features a system of interconnected shapes and colors that convey a variety of emotional moods. Aaron Douglas’s work during the Harlem Renaissance, a period of enthusiasm for the future, inspired the visual language. Everything is tied together with a texture that is both subtle and necessary. We translated this design landscape across all lines of the business.
